Short description The Transnet Foundation requires the services of the following suitably qualified persons.

Site Project Managers

Long descriptionReporting to the Portfolio Manager: Containerised Assistance, the incumbents in these fixed-term, renewable contract positions will be responsible for implementing and managing the Transnet Community Security Centre (TCSC) project of the Container Assistance Programme (CAP) portfolio, in a single targeted CAP site (specific community) for the Foundation so that the Foundation can achieve its mandate of social responsibility for Transnet SOC Ltd.

Qualifications and experience:
• Post-Matric Certificate in Safety or Social Development
• Experience in basic finance management and project coordination
• Knowledge of the CPF (Community Policing Forum), the SAPS Act of 1995, relevant criminal and justice legislation.

The following would be added advantages:
• A safety or social development-related degree or diploma
• Any other postgraduate degree or qualification
• CPF experience
• Security management experience
• Project Management certificate and experience
• Knowledge of the PFMA
• More than 5 years’ experience in related fields
• Knowledge of rural areas and community dynamics
• Preparedness to work in rural areas
• Driver’s licence.

Key accountabilities:
• Coordinate the operations plan and the overall centre roster programmes
• Build capacity and implement training
• Market the services of the centre and distribute literature
• Practically and methodically set up the centre
• lmplement the monitoring system and protocols including the collection of site statistics
• Provide general site support with regard to community safety and security aspects
• Coordinate midweek and Saturday programmes
• Ensure social stakeholder facilitation
• Maintain and manage the Local Organising Committee (LOC)
• Draw up the weekly programme and organise the daily activities at the centre
• Re-design the report template
• Perform all office administration including minutes and correspondence of meetings
• Travel to and work in rural areas
• Identify and manage project risks
• Implement crisis communication
• Coordinate upkeep and maintenance of the centre
• Maintain an asset register
• Organise and monitor safety and risk activities with Transnet business
• Keep a supplier database for the project and ensure compliance with Transnet requirements
• Attend all LOC and other stakeholder meetings
• Ensure attendance of all stakeholders within and external to Transnet at centre meetings
• Manage stakeholder relations
• Track clients of the centre and compile data on beneficiaries of the centre and services rendered
• Track project progress and monitor deviance from the project plan
• Conduct regular visits to stakeholders as needed, eg Municipality
• Procure various services from local suppliers for project requirements
• Submit written project reports on a regular basis
• Attend to any other project-related activities.
