Short description Editorial Project Manager Flagships
(12 months contract)
Reports to: Managing Editor
The M&G runs several special projects each year that promote its principles and aims, and which include editorial products. It is looking for a project manager to ensure that its flagship projects are successful. This person will:
• Oversee detailed project management schedule across all relevant departments as main driver of all flagships
• Organise and drive regular progress meetings with designated teams on the above projects and drive all elements
• Provide support to designated teams as needed
• Attend meetings and liaise with client
• Monitor and ensure strict adherence to both deadlines and quality standards across departments
• Ensure good and timeous communication on all projects among all relevant people and teams

• Degree or Diploma in Journalism or Project Management
• At least four years’ work experience in the areas of public relations and media
• A proven track record of managing projects and/or aspects of projects, including budgets and reporting
• An understanding of and passion for the media
• Highly computer literate with exceptional social media skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills (copywriting, editing or journalism experience would be an advantage)

• Works well under pressure
• A confident individual, unafraid of enforcing deadlines

The appointment will be done in line with the M & G Media Ltd. Employment Equity Policy and the remuneration will commensurate with the position.
